COLOR
GUARD

The La Quinta Color Guard is a year-long commitment showcasing performances using equipment and dance. Members use skills in ballet and jazz along with equipment such as flag, rifle, and sabre. There is no experience required, and everyone is free to join!

The members will be part of the marching during the first semester and part of the winter guard, second semester. Students have the opportunity to compete in CSBC in the fall and WGASC in the winter. Being a part of this team gives members an opportunity to be a part of a second family!

STUDENT DONATIONS
Each member is expected to turn in a set amount of fees every season. Fees will be told at the beginning of each season. Guard fees are seperate from the rest of the band. Winter is typically much less than fall. These fees are crucial to paying our shows(props, uniforms, competitions, etc.) This donation can be split up in multiple payments or done all at once.

All payments should be turned into our treasurer OR parent board(ABC). For any comments and concern let the band director, Mr Lam know at klam@ggusd.net.
JOINING PROCESS
All members that are planning to join are required to go to clinics and camps. Going to these practices helps members learn basics that are needed throughout the season. These rehearsals are crucial for practice and they give members the opportunity to get to know each other and bond with one another.

Every member is expected to be on flag and learn the right technique and basics. For weaponry, there will be auditions and those who are qualified will have a spot on the weapon line.
